The Pepperl+Fuchs KFA6-SR2-Ex2.W is a dual-channel isolated switch amplifier designed for use in hazardous areas requiring intrinsically safe control. It operates on a 230 V AC supply and accepts signals from dry contacts or NAMUR proximity sensors. The unit provides relay contact outputs and features Line Fault Detection (LFD) for enhanced safety, making it suitable for applications up to Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2.
Input Characteristics: For NAMUR sensors, it provides an open-circuit voltage of approx. 8 V DC and a short-circuit current of approx. 8 mA. It features line fault detection for opens (I ≤ 0.1 mA) and shorts (I > 6 mA).
Output Characteristics: The relay outputs can switch loads up to 253 V AC / 2 A (cosφ > 0.7) or 40 V DC / 2 A (resistive load).
Switching Frequency: Maximum switching frequency is ≤ 10 Hz.
Electrical Isolation: Features reinforced insulation between input, output, and power supply according to IEC/EN 61010-1
